About Us
About Chateau Dorrien
Three generations of handcrafted wines from the Barossa Valley.
The Martin family, headed by Fernando and Jeanette, purchased Dorrien Winery from the Seppelt family in 1984, officially opening it as Chateau Dorrien on 13 January 1985. In 1990, the family purchased the former KarraWirra Winery and reopened it as Twin Valley Estate, moving all production operations to the site. All Chateau Dorrien group wines are sold at our cellar door in the heart of the Barossa Valley.
Quality and Consistency is Our Family Focus
Fernando Martin was a third-generation descendant of an Italian wine and liqueur making family. Having successfully created fabulous Honey Liqueurs from recipes handed down through generations, and producing premium quality red and white wines from the famous Dorrien vineyards, he went on to purchase a larger wine production facility at Lyndoch.
His son Ramon (Ray) Martin is himself a dedicated winemaker who joined the family business. His aspiration today is to continue his father's legacy producing handcrafted products of quality and consistency in the family boutique winery.
Steady growth in the popularity of our wines has provided Fernando and son Ray with the most important award they could achieve — their customers' appreciation.
